We are looking to add a new member to our growing team of freelancers, based in or around Leeds/York. As a UK-wide company, we're seeking someone who can cover jobs across the North East of England.
The ideal person would be a videographer/camera operator in the early stages of their career, looking for more consistent work. All equipment can be supplied.
We provide a professional and high-quality service to a variety of different clients, from individuals to large corporate entities, and you might be asked to work in various industries such as weddings, funerals, sports, corporate events, religious services, and so on.
The main bulk of our regular work, beginning during lockdown and continuing to this day, is live-streaming funerals and weddings, so this will be our main offering to you. Much of this is done solo, but you will always have remote support available from the rest of the team. For larger events, you would be joined by others, such as additional camera operators, producers, commentators, photographers, etc. If you have other skills or experience, then we would consider you for these roles as well.
You'll need:
* A theoretical, practical and technical understanding of cameras and audio equipment.
* The ability to frame and compose shots well with a creative eye.
* Smooth and accurate camera control.
* Good communication skills.
* The capacity to multitask and think on your feet.
* The ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
* Flexibility, creativity and patience.
* Attention to detail.
And have:
* A full UK driving licence and own a car or van.
* Willingness to travel.
* Flexible availability.
Operators will work on a freelance basis, and rates of pay vary according to the type and level of production. The minimum fee, based on a single-camera funeral live-stream lasting between 30 and 90 minutes, would be £150 plus £12/hour of travel to and from the job.
The nature of some events can mean we get very last-minute enquiries and bookings, but we will always endeavour to give as much notice as possible. As such, flexibility and availability are important. We will also always try to find you local work, but as we have a presence throughout the UK, travel will be required.
Working hours vary, from typically 1-3 hours up to 8 hours plus. An average job would usually require up to 2 hours of setup, along with 1-2 hours to undertake the task itself. Due to the potential for longer hours and the need to carry or move equipment, the job can be physically demanding, and you will also need to be comfortable working outside in all weather.
If you would like further details on what we are offering, please just ask.
