Being a Senior Coach (often referred to as a Senior Residential Support Worker, Senior Mental Health Support Worker or even Senior Carer for Children) at Supercare offers a fulfilling chance to positively influence the lives of vulnerable children and young people. In this role, you'll help them become more independent, succeed in their education, and grow personally through various enjoyable activities in a safe environment. You'll collaborate closely with young people, their families, social workers, and other organizations to ensure everyone's needs are addressed, making their transition to adulthood smooth.\n\nMain Duties:\n\nDirect work with young people, key working and generally taking an active part in providing day to day care & support on a shift work basis.\nWorking in partnership with young people, their social worker and careers and other relevant agencies.\nTo co-ordinate, monitor and review Care Plans for all allocated young people preparing to make the transition to adulthood and greater independence.\nTaking responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment with regard to health and safety and primary care issues, as well as making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behaviour whilst on shift.\nAdministrative work and record keeping associated with key working responsibilities and the daily running of the home.\nTo ensure that young people carry as much responsibility for their own lives as they can reasonably and demonstrably be expected to carry, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, involving them in planning their lives, supporting them and helping them towards taking greater control and responsibility.\nRespond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and report these effectively\nAttending to their day to day needs which is not limited to bathing, feeding, cooking for the young people.\nHousehold Responsibilities:\n\nTo share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the House.\nTo care for the fabric, equipment and overall environment\nTo be accountable for moneys allocated for specific purposes.\nReporting repairs and ensuring that necessary actions are taken.\nPersonal:\n\nTo act as a role model and guide for young people setting principles and examples\nTo keep abreast of good practice in order to develop skills, knowledge and experience, in accordance with a personal development plan.\nTo make use of regular professional supervision\nTo report to a line manager, or other appropriate person, malpractice or evidence which may suggest it.\nAdditional Duties:\n\nTo carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.\nTo work shifts including weekends and bank holidays on a Rota basis as required\nFlexibility to work at other properties as directed by management.\nThis job description outlines the general ways in which it is expected you will meet the overall requirements of the post.

You will be subject to enhanced DBS checks before being offered a placement and should be prepared to volunteer any relevant information on request. \nYou will receive regular and on going micro training in order to perform your role to your absolute best.\n\nYour training will include 36 days face to face training per year with our external training specialist.\n\nWe encourage internal promotions so will expect you to enter your level 3 or level 5 in an appropriate timescale.
