About the role
We are recruiting permanent Social Workers for Adult Community Social Work teams in West Bromwich, Wednesbury and Tipton.
Key responsibilities:
* Have strong analytical, assessment and negotiation skills; passionate about strengths‑based working; strong interpersonal, communication and IT skills; vision for own development.
* Complete strengths‑based assessments and reviews in accordance with the Care Act 2014; conduct S42 safeguarding enquiries.
* Utilise the Mental Capacity Act (2005) provisions, including capacity assessments and applications to the Court of Protection.
* Record all case management and key decisions in the case recording system.
* Analyse information to understand risks and develop strategies to explain, avoid or manage risk appropriately.
* Actively participate in quality assurance processes, peer and reflective supervision.
* Develop and co‑produce support plans to maximise independence of adults with care and support needs.
* Participate in professional development opportunities such as Practice Educator and Best Interest Assessor.
* Work with a diverse group of individuals and partner agencies to deliver best outcomes for customers and carers.
Qualifications
* Degree in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW or equivalent.
* At least six months of experience in a social care environment with adults (including placements). ASYE programmes available for those not yet assessed.
