This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Environmental Services Behavioural Change Officer to join our Environmental Services team.
The Role
You will develop innovative engagement strategies to influence behaviour change by working directly with service providers, residents, and businesses to increase recycling, reduce waste, and raise awareness about cleansing. Your efforts will help the council meet government and local recycling, cleansing, and carbon reduction targets. You will report to the Waste & Cleansing Contracts Manager.
Your Responsibilities
1. Research, design, coordinate, and implement tailored engagement strategies related to recycling, waste minimisation, and street cleansing to promote sustained behaviour change.
2. Develop and pilot approaches to community engagement, creating bespoke plans to meet local needs across the borough and achieve waste reduction and recycling goals.
3. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of engagement strategies, address concerns promptly, and recommend continuous improvements.
4. Support activities that involve residents, schools, and community groups in caring for their environments, fostering cleaner and greener neighbourhoods.
