Apricus Resourcing are working with a private healthcare provider who are looking to hire Oncology Nurses for locum shifts/bookings within one of the services in Bath. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care to individuals diagnosed with cancer, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being throughout their treatment journey. This role requires a strong understanding of oncology practices, alongside the ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families. Duties * Assess and monitor patients' health status, including vital signs and symptoms related to cancer treatment. * Administer medications and chemotherapy as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. * Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. * Educate patients and their families about treatment options, side effects, and self-care strategies. * Provide emotional support and counselling to patients facing the challenges of cancer diagnosis and treatment. * Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards. * Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with oncology practices. Skills * Strong patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and compassion towards individuals undergoing treatment. * Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, particularly as it relates to oncology nursing. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams. * Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. * Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing patient care plans and documentation.
