Are you an experienced travel professional with a passion for people, performance, and outstanding customer service We're looking for a Travel Branch Manager to lead our Chelmsford branch - part of Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society's trusted and community-focused travel network.
This is your opportunity to take full ownership of branch performance, motivate a small team of travel consultants, and deliver tailored travel experiences to our loyal client base. With a strong focus on service, strategy, and sales growth, you'll help shape the future of independent travel in Essex.
What You'll Be Doing
Branch Leadership & Team Development
Lead, support and inspire a team of travel consultants to exceed sales targets and deliver exceptional service.
Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching to support professional development.
Sales & Business Growth
Implement effective sales strategies to increase branch revenue and grow the customer base.
Monitor travel market trends and competitor activity to drive innovation and commercial success.
Develop strong supplier relationships to maximise product access and efficiency.
Operational Oversight
Manage day-to-day branch operations, ensuring compliance with travel industry standards and internal policies.
Track key performance indicators, budgets and expense reporting.
Maintain accurate financial and client records using industry systems.
Customer Service Excellence
Promote a client-first approach, offering expert guidance, personalised travel planning and effective issue resolution.
Keep up to date with destinations, packages and travel regulations to provide trusted advice.
Marketing & Community Engagement
Collaborate with the marketing team to support promotional activity, events and local outreach to attract and retain customers.
What You'll Bring
Minimum 2 years' experience in a managerial role within the travel industry.
Proven track record in sales, target achievement and team leadership.
Strong knowledge of global travel products, trends, and booking systems (Tarsc experience is a plus).
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Commercial acumen and ability to multitask under pressure.
A proactive mindset and genuine passion for travel.
