About the Role:We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History and Humanities Teacher to join our secondary school team. The successful candidate will teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to other humanities subjects such as Geography, Religious Studies, or Citizenship, depending on expertise. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students, foster critical thinking, and contribute to a vibrant and supportive department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in History and other humanities subjects as required.
2. Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 if applicable), ensuring lessons are inclusive and accessible to all learners.
3. Develop students’ historical knowledge, analytical skills, and understanding of global and cultural perspectives.
4. Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, using data to inform teaching and provide targeted support.
5. Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment activities, and cross-curricular projects.
6. Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives, CPD, and school events.
7. Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
Person Specification:Essentials:
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
9. A degree in History or a related humanities subject.
10. Experience teaching History at secondary level.
11. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the humanities.
12. Excellentmunication, planning, and organisational skills.
13. Amitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Desirable:
14. Experience teaching other humanities subjects (, Geography, RS, Citizenship).
15. Familiarity with current educational research and curriculum developments in the humanities.
16. Ability to lead or support extracurricular activities such as history clubs, trips, or debates.
