Position: Programme Manager / Senior Project Manager
Location: Surrey/Buckinghamshire
Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 Plus Bonus, Car/Allowance & Package
The Role: Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominantly in the water industry. They have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for Thames Water. They are recruiting for a Programme Manager to help deliver these projects.
You will report to the Operations Manager. Your role will oversee, lead, and support a program of work including Project Managers and Site Managers. You will support the design phase and manage the construction and commissioning phases by setting up contracts and ensuring they are completed efficiently, to specifications, within the required time, and within the tender estimate, all while prioritizing health and safety and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the overall performance of the projects, including contract staffing, supporting the hand-over from design to project delivery, and setting overall contract strategy.
2. Responsible for overall health & safety and reporting to the monthly project management meetings.
3. Offer support, advice, and guidance to Construction and Delivery Leads on all contract aspects, assisting with problem-solving as required.
4. Responsible for staff training and development.
5. Maintain client relations, resolve client-related issues, and develop opportunities for further business.
6. Promote safety and delivery quality standards to the workforce.
7. Ensure technical, safety, and environmental reviews are carried out for each project in conjunction with the Design Manager.
8. Ensure sufficient trained personnel are available and aware of their responsibilities.
9. Oversee reviews and approvals of all MS/RA and Construction delivery plans to support H&S requirements.
10. Produce works procedures to assist with quality control where applicable.
11. Report and identify costs for all site non-conformities.
12. Manage all commercial aspects proactively, providing accurate forecasts and estimates.
13. Implement and adhere to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies and Targets.
14. Maintain knowledge of technical disciplines related to water and wastewater projects.
15. Maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach and provide honest feedback.
16. Present a professional image and foster positive relationships internally and externally.
Experience:
1. Extensive knowledge of project management from conception to end-user acceptance.
2. Experience managing various project sizes and complexities.
3. Degree or equivalent in a construction-related discipline.
4. APMP or equivalent qualification.
5. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
6. Ability to work closely with clients and end-users.
7. Delivery-driven with skills to set targets and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
8. Experience in large-scale infrastructure project delivery.
9. Strategic, operational, technical, and managerial skills.
10. Experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
11. Proficiency in Primavera or Powerproject.
12. Chartered or near-chartered in a construction discipline.
13. Knowledge of construction health & safety standards.
