Job Description
Action for Children in Scotland are committed to The Promise and keeping the experience of the child at the centre. You will lead the scrutiny of fostering assessments and reviews as Chairperson of our Independent Foster Care Panel. You will contribute to the fostering service safely recruiting Foster Carers that will be able to provide safe and stable homes.
You will ensure the agencies review recommendations are robustly considered. An able communicator you will support the development of the Fostering Service through strong links to the Panel Advisor, the Registered Managers and the Agency Decision Maker.
With a strong understanding of the fostering environment you will provide leadership to Panel in order to ensure it fulfils it's remit.
Well prepared, able to provide focus, and manage time you will create a safe space to consider complex issues and record clear decision making in the presence of all key stakeholders.
You will be committed to continuous development and learning and be able to promote best practice.

Salary:
The person would be self employed. Rate of £275 - £550 per day dependent on full or half day. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
Hours per week:
10 panels per annum
Location:
Covering Scotland – Hybrid of remote and in person (Glasgow and Inverness). Applicant would need to be based in Scotland.
Interview date:
We plan to hold interviews over two stages.
Stage 1 - TEAMS interview on the 14th April 26
Stage 2 - In-person interview on the 29th April 26. The stage 2 interview will take place in Glasgow.
