Job Description
We are currently recruiting Risk Managers for our Project Controls Team, based in the Midlands. As a Risk Manager, you will be a key member of the team, working on high-profile infrastructure projects across energy, renewables, defense, rail, and utilities sectors. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Facilitating identification, assessment, and prioritization of threats, opportunities, and issues.
2. Maintaining visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to support risk cost profiling, timely risk budget drawdown, or threat/opportunity retirement.
3. Assisting with the development of measurable management responses and assessing post-mitigation positions.
4. Monitoring overall risk exposure against remaining risk budgets and timelines.
5. Producing and presenting risk reports to communicate threat and opportunity status effectively to senior management.
6. Understanding quantitative risk assessment (cost, schedule, integrated) to inform project contingency and risk allowances, demonstrating competency with tools like Safran, @risk, PRA, or similar.
7. Familiarity with web-based reporting tools such as ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau, PowerBI.
8. Developing and implementing integrated risk management solutions across portfolios, programs, and projects.
9. Facilitating risk and scenario analysis workshops.
10. Developing proactive threat mitigation and opportunity exploitation strategies.
11. Conducting qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, including probabilistic modeling, with industry-leading training provided.
12. Understanding Project Controls methodology and risk management interactions.
Experience in risk delivery roles on major projects or with blue-chip clients is essential, with project experience in energy, renewables, defense, rail, or utilities preferred. Candidates working towards IRM or APM risk certification are preferred. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to developing new ways of working are required.
