Job Description
As a Quality Engineer, you will join our team to support our activities within the Aerospace sector.
ou will be responsible for ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory standards and maintaining the integrity of the Quality Management System (QMS). Working closely with operational and engineering teams, you will play a key role in audits, approvals, and continuous improvement of quality processes within a regulated aerospace environment.
* Location: Newport
* On Site: 2-3 days per week
* Clearance: Eligibility for UK Security Clearance required
* Experience Level: Mid- Senior
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate regulatory approvals with aviation authorities (e.g. CAA)
* Ensure compliance with PART 21J and ISO standards
* Act as the primary interface with regulatory bodies and auditors
* Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
* Manage non-conformities, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Lead preparation and support for audits and regulatory inspections
* Ensure robust processes across returns, concessions, and non-compliant components
* Support operational teams in maintaining quality and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Required Skills:
* Strong experience in quality and regulatory compliance within aerospace or aviation
* Working knowledge of PART 21J, CAA regulations, and ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001)
* Experience managing audits, approvals, and external regulatory interfaces
* Proven ability to manage non-conformities and corrective action processes
* Strong understanding of QMS and continuous improvement methodologies
Required Qualifications:
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
* Experience working in a regulated aerospace or safety-critical environment
* Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, compliance, or certification roles
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working within a PART 21J Design Organisation
* Familiarity with EASA/CAA certification processes
* Exposure to aerospace manufacturing or MRO environments
* Knowledge of configuration control and documentation standards
