Our Momentwm team was developed to promote the Active Travel initiative, which is instrumental in creating new travel and wellbeing behaviours, and advocating active travel as part of a balanced lifestyle. We are looking for additional Engagement Officers to join us on a casual basis, picking up shifts as and when required.
Hours, Pay and Benefits
Hours: Casual basis; you will be advised of the upcoming shifts available for you to accept or decline depending on your availability to work.
Shifts can be during the day, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, depending on the team's tasklist and events. Some shifts may become available at short notice, so flexibility is appreciated.
Pay Rate: £14.08 per hour

Key Experiences and Qualifications
Essential for your application:
1. Experience of delivering behaviour change initiatives to groups of people
2. Working experience with community-based organisations, social enterprises, the voluntary sector or statutory public services
3. Experience of working with or maintaining bicycles, and/or e-bikes
4. Personal experience of regularly cycling or walking for social, recreational or commuting purposes
5. Be IT literate, with ability to pick up new skills quickly
6. Willingness to complete at least one of the following course opportunities: British Cycling Level 1 Award in Coaching Cycling 1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycling Training Level 2 Certificate in Cycle Maintenance or equivalent Walk Leaders Training
Beneficial to your application:
7. Certificate in Emergency First Aid
8. Full UK driving licence to assist with driving company vehicle, moving large equipment across the City as may be reuired Have BE category on your driving licence and willingness to attend a towing course
9. Ability to communicate in Welsh (or any other languages in addition to English)
Role Requirements
Our Engagement Officers support our Programme Manager in the delivery of programme initiatives, engagement, and promotion, in addition to undertaking regular data collection and programme review.
Main responsibilities include:
10. Leading our Learn to Ride and Learn to Maintain bikes programmes
11. Leading our walking group sessions within Newport Live and at community locations and venues across the city
12. Engagement with community organiations and businesses
13. Being an advocate for active travel and behaviour change initiatives
