Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Database Engineer with deep expertise in SAP/Sybase technologies to join our infrastructure engineering team. This role focuses purely on database infrastructure engineering without operational DBA responsibilities.
The successful candidate will design, implement, and enhance our SAP/Sybase database environments, with emphasis on security and automation.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement Sybase ASE and Replication Server infrastructure solutions
* Create and maintain shell scripts and T-SQL code for automation and management tasks
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement database security best practices
* Document technical solutions for both specialist and non-specialist audiences
* Contribute to continuous improvement of database infrastructure
Mandatory Skills
* Extensive experience with Sybase ASE 16
* Proven expertise with Sybase Replication Server 16
* Strong Sybase T-SQL development skills
* Strong shell scripting (bash or ksh) skills
* Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8
* Fluent spoken and written English
Highly Desirable Skills
* Experience with Sybase ASE 15.7
* Experience with Sybase Replication Server 15.7
* Experience with RHEL 7 and Solaris 10
* Python 3.9+ programming skills
* Have previously implemented SAP/Sybase ASE 16.0 full-database encryption
* (note: NOT column encryption)
* Experience configuring external HSM keystores for ASE 16 encryption keys
