Job Description
You will use your deep scientific insight and research skills to address complex problems, exploring new possibilities and inventing solutions. Your role includes designing investigations, creating prototypes, and working across technology development stages from analysis to manufacturing transfer. You will directly impact UK security and work with expert teams delivering cutting-edge technology. This role is varied, challenging, and requires a strong curiosity and application of fundamental physics.

Awerian’s Physicists come from diverse backgrounds. Past projects have included areas such as:

* Quantum technologies (sensing, navigation, computing, communications)
* Semiconductor physics (junction behavior, logic, thermal effects)
* Electromagnetics (propagation, interference, plasmas)
* Sonar and acoustics (ultrasound, communication)
* Thermal systems (aviation, maritime)
* Fluid analysis (dispersion, microfluidics)
* Algorithm design (AI, ML, signal processing)
* Optics (imaging, lasers, fiber optics)

If you have experience or interest in experimental or computational physics, or applied mathematics, we want to hear from you.

Requirements
You should have a proven track record of academic excellence, hold a relevant postgraduate degree or equivalent experience, and demonstrate strong technical capabilities as a Physicist. We welcome applications from Physicists across sectors.
