Job Summary
Modality Partnership Walsall Division has 2 fixed‑term, 1‑year full‑time vacancies for a PCN Pharmacy Technician. The postholder will work within Walsall West One PCN at Kingfisher Berkley Practice, providing Pharmacy Technician support to pharmacists, alongside digital enablers such as online consultations, to create an innovative pharmacy hub for patients. The role requires high performance, dedication and a passion for patient care. Salary is £25,000 per annum WTE, dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities
The postholder will work as part of a pan‑divisional pharmacy hub, collaborating with pharmacy administrators, pharmacy technicians and prescribing pharmacists. Core duties include:
* Managing all pharmacy related patient inquiries.
* Delivering structured medication reviews, high‑risk drug monitoring and medicines reconciliation.
* Facilitating repeat medication and conducting drug audits.
* Supporting clinical work in line with your competencies.
* Ensuring safe, accurate and timely supply of prescribed medication.
* Providing technical and administrative support to Clinical Pharmacists and Clinicians under the supervision of the Lead Clinical Pharmacist.

The role is not a regular 9am‑5pm job; it requires innovation, flexibility, and commitment to ensure tasks are completed efficiently as part of the team.
Qualifications
* GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician.
* BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in pharmacy services.
* Enrolment in or qualification from an approved training pathway – e.g. Primary Care Pharmacy Educational Pathway (PCPEP) or Medicines Optimisation in Care Homes (MOCH).
Skills
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Clear, polite telephone manner.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages and case management.
* High levels of analytical literacy.
* Ability to follow policy and procedure.
* Systemone / EMIS user skills.
* Ability to develop and implement policy and procedure to sustain a quality service.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of medication optimisation principles.
* Good pharmacy knowledge, including terminology.
* Understanding of pharmacy law, ethics and current legislation.
* Appreciation of primary care prescribing, rational prescribing and prescribing improvement strategies.
* Understanding of current national policies impacting medicines management services.
* Understanding of QOF and community pharmacy systems.

Experience
* Minimum 2 years experience in a hospital, community or primary care pharmacy.
* Primary care experience preferred.
