Overview
Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) invites applications for a Band 5 registered nurse to join the Emergency Department at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan.
The Emergency Department has recently been rated Good by the CQC. The posts are advertised as an internal rotation over seven days, offering opportunities to develop skills across key acute emergency areas. Applications from experienced nurses and final year nursing students approaching qualification are welcome. As a new starter you will be supported by the ED Clinical Educator with induction, training and development. The vacancy may close earlier than the advertised closing date if a sufficient number of suitable applications are received. Candidates will be required to present original certificates at interview. Full and part-time contracts will be considered.

Pay £31,049 to £37,796 per annum, pro rata (Agenda for Change, Band 5)

Responsibilities
* To provide the highest standards of care to patients.
* Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Uphold the NMC Code of Conduct.
* Adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
* Participate in multidisciplinary audit.
* Contribute to the development and application of evidence-based practice within care delivery.
* Complete patient documentation and maintain accurate records and information systems.
* Provide information as required, including notification of adverse events and incidents.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Registered General Nurse (RGN); current UK professional registration.
* Recent evidence of continuing professional development.
* Experience of working in a clinical environment; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Desirable: experience in A&E; teaching and assessing qualifications; evidence of clinical supervision; IT skills; post-qualification experience.
Skills and Attributes
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to maintain and improve standards of care.
* Ability to challenge unacceptable behaviour or practice professionally.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision.
