This role involves conducting hazard and risk assessment techniques in completing incident analysis, performing structural firefighting and personnel rescue across diverse facilities, and administering first aid. Responsibilities also include maintaining all firefighting equipment and station facilities while strictly complying with all health, safety, and environmental rules to ensure a safe work environment. Qualifications and Key skills A valid UK driving License (Category B), plus One years specialized experience as a Firefighter demonstrating the Key skills listed below. 1. Knowledge of basic and specialized structural firefighting equipment (fire alarm system operation, fire extinguishing equipment operation, etc.), techniques, and procedures; and of basic and specialized building design, construction, and occupancy. 2. Knowledge of hazardous materials emergency response procedures, equipment, and identification. 3. Knowledge of emergency first aid techniques; and of safety requirements as outlined in applicable safety standards, regulations, and/or technical orders. 4. Skill in operating communications equipment. 5. Ability to maintain good working relations; and to communicate orally and in writing. 6. Ability to lift and carry heavy loads; and to apply emergency first aid techniques. Other Significant facts 1. You will serve a 6-month probationary period in this mission-essential role. You must safeguard sensitive information per US/UK laws, communicate effectively (orally and in writing). 2. UK retirement rules apply. 3. Work hours are subject to change for mission needs, with potential overtime and other duties as assigned. The role may require travel (including internationally) and involve work in the Emergency Communications Center or as a Driver Operator. 4. You must pass pre-appointment and annual health screenings, participate in a mandatory fitness program, and be able to discern color, contrast, and depth. The work is in adverse conditions, requiring use of provided safety equipment and participation in respiratory/hearing programs. Drug testing may occur upon reasonable suspicion or after an accident. 5. You are required to be certified by the Department of Defense (DOD) Firefighter Certification System as Firefighter II (includes Firefighter I), HAZMAT Awareness, and HAZMAT Operations and must obtain certifications for Telecommunicator, Level I & II, American Red Cross Healthcare Provider (CPR-AED), National Registry Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and NIMS100/200/700/800, within 12 months of employment.
