We are revolutionizing the way the world moves for future generations, and we want someone who is ready to move with us.This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established local business that designs, manufactures and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the power generation, marine and rail traction industries.Part of the Wabtec Corporation; Napier Turbochargers is part of a world-wide organisation that provides excellent career opportunities both within the UK and abroad.This vacancy will require a flexible approach covering mechanical fitting skills or development of fitting skills across the following Production areas:- Turbocharger Assembly (Original Equipment)- Rotor Balance (Original Equipment & Aftermarket)- Turbocharger Overhaul (Aftermarket)- Development and Production Testing- Service Engineer Support (UK & Global Travel - dependant on experience)**Qualifications**:- Recognised time served mechanical engineering apprenticeship of equivalent NVQ Level 3**Skills:**- Be self-motivated and have good communication skills, both verbal and written- Understand the need to work as part of a team and be committed to the targets and measures of that team- Show good timekeeping and be flexible in working shift patterns/additional hours- Have a good awareness of the importance of a safe working environment and duties on oneself and others within the company's HSE policy- Demonstrate the ability to read engineering drawings and the use of calibrated measuring equipmentWabtec Corporation is a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services for freight and transit rail as well as the mining, marine, and industrial markets.
