Graduate / Assistant Planner - London Salary: £28,000 – £33,000 Benefits: Up to 10% pension contribution 30 days annual leave The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate or Assistant Planner to join a growing consultancy team delivering planning services across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects. You will play an important role within multi-disciplinary project teams, supporting the delivery of planning consultancy services from project inception through to completion. This position would suit someone with a genuine passion for town planning, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. Key Responsibilities You will support and contribute to: Undertaking detailed planning policy and legislative research, identifying and applying relevant policies to specific sites and projects Assisting senior colleagues in delivering planning consultancy and strategy advice to public, private and third-sector clients Supporting pre-application discussions and coordinating the preparation and submission of planning applications Contributing to public consultation strategies, including stakeholder identification and engagement approaches Assisting with project coordination and budget monitoring About You The ideal candidate will demonstrate: A motivated and engaging personality, keen to develop within an ambitious and high-performing team Strong technical awareness of national, regional and local planning policy and development issues The ability to understand and apply planning legislation and procedural requirements Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills Diligence and accuracy in research and report writing Confidence supporting smaller projects with oversight and contributing to larger applications Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a team Professionalism, tact and diplomacy when managing stakeholder interactions You will have completed an RTPI-accredited degree or be working towards chartership via the associate route.
