The Business Development Associate will form part of a regional team and work closely with the Business Development Managers and Directors to promote the services and products of Brooks Macdonald.
The role will be focused on telephone sales, engaging with financial advisers over the phone to provide understanding and insight of the Brooks Macdonald solutions aligned to the needs and goals of advisers and their clients.
Role Responsibilities:
* Initiate and maintain regular contact with prospective and current advisers, ensuring consistent sales messages are delivered across the region’s adviser population.
* Develop and nurture long-term relationships with advisers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention
* Consistently meet agreed sales targets and KPIs
* Maintain accurate records of adviser interaction and sales activities in CRM (Salesforce)
* Maintain, manage and utilise internal and external data (including opportunity data, monthly sales figures, activity statistics) to support the sales effort and business reporting
* Work with the regional teams and other key stakeholders to create, maintain and execute regional business plans which support wider business objectives and sales targets
* Maintain a deep understanding of Brooks Macdonald’s products and services. Complete and record regular CPD and undertake personal and professional development as required
* Support the completion of adviser due diligence and new adviser agreements where appropriate
* Liaise with key stakeholders, including the Business Development Managers, Investment Management teams, Marketing, operational teams and other third parties
* Attend and support regular team meetings including monthly sales team meetings
* Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements, ensuring that all interactions and transactions are conducted ethically and in accordance with industry standards
* Perform role always ensuring adherence to the expected behaviours stated in the FCA Conduct Rules
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in a telephone sales role, ideally within Wealth Management
* Demonstrable understanding of the regulatory requirements around investments and in-depth knowledge of financial products and services. Candidates should have achieved or be willing to study the Investment Management Certificate or other relevant level 4 qualification
* Demonstrable understanding of the sales process and target market with a clear understanding of industry trends
* Experience using a CRM system, ideally Salesforce
* Ability to engage diverse advisers, investment managers and product providers
