Are you an experienced Technical Coordinator or Engineer looking for a step up? A leading UK housebuilder is seeking a Senior Technical Manager to join their established regional team in Wolverhampton. This role manages the technical delivery of two complex residential schemes while providing mentorship to a small team of coordinators. The position sits at a level equivalent to a Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager, reporting directly to the Technical Team Manager.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design development process from inception to completion, ensuring all projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
* Take full ownership of two complex development sites.
* Supervise and support 1:2 junior team members in their daily tasks.
* Control the complete design process, managing external consultants and liaising with statutory and local authorities.
* Ensure all designs meet current legislation, Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and Planning requirements.
* Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to drive projects forward proactively.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years within the housing industry as an engineer or technical coordinator.
* Excellent working knowledge of highways, drainage, building regulations, and NHBC standards.
* A proactive, problem‑solving mindset for design development and site‑based issues.
* Ability to mentor junior staff and manage high‑pressure, complex projects.
* Demonstrated understanding of engineering elements rather than just architectural components.
