Responsible for the day-to-day project management of multiple projects, ensuring, as far as practicable, compliance with building regulations and associated standards of construction projects and / or conversion project.Responsibilities Supporting and mentoring less experienced technical staff to ensure our standards and service levels in all aspects of RBCA and related activities are achievedSupport the introduction/delivery of new products and services as requiredAssessing applicationsAttending meetings, training sessions and seminars, as required by the businessAn advocate for Assent, representing the business in a professional mannerTaking responsibility for a portfolio of projects within a geographical areaProviding technical support and guidance to clients and less experienced members of the teamEffective time management to optimise inspection visits to sites and in relation to plan checking requirementsRecording and maintaining accurate inspection recordsManaging relationships with customers to promote business developmentCommunicate effectively with stakeholders, both internal and external, forging meaningful relationships Qualifications:Keen eye for detail and process orientatedWill have the ability to make pragmatic decisions to achieve safe, and compliant buildingsWill be able to work with the minimum of supervision/remotely in line with established policies and proceduresWill have good communication and interpersonal skillsCommercial awarenessChartered or working towards full corporate membership of Chartered Institute of Building Engineers or Royal Institution of Chartered SurveyorsHold and maintain appropriate Technical Class 2F Registered Building Inspector (RBI) statusConversant with relevant legislation, technical guidance and has knowledge of the impact of The Building Safety Act (2022)Fire safetyHealth and SafetyA knowledge of the construction design process and RIBA Stages of workCompetency framework and code of professional conduct rulesKnowledge of customer care and the principles of equal opportunities in providing a Building Control functionA track record in ensuring compliance and enforcement with the Building Regulations. Working towards and gaining experience of different types of buildings and projectsEffective self-management of site inspections and reportingAssessing safety and risk.
