As the Highway Operations Manager, you will lead the design, functionality, and long-term success of this hub—ensuring it meets the needs of our teams, network, and communities.

The Opportunity
In this role, you will:
* Lead planned and reactive highway maintenance, winter services, and emergency response operations.
* Manage frontline teams and contractors to ensure safety, quality, and performance standards.
* Oversee budgets, contracts, and service-level agreements for value and efficiency.
* Drive innovation and continuous improvement focusing on sustainability, commercialism, and customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders for integrated highway services and projects.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, health and safety, and environmental standards.
About You
To succeed, you should have:

* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* A proactive, safety-first approach with a commitment to innovation.
* A relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Highways Maintenance, or Construction Management.
* A degree in Leadership and Management.
* New Roads and Streetworks Supervisor Qualification.
* Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme or IOSH Managing Safety Course.
* Winter Services Supervisors Certificate.
* Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
* Excellent writing, numeracy, and IT skills.
* A full UK Driving Licence.
