Staff Nurse/ODP Theatre Scrub or Recovery Practitioner
Job Summary
St Michael's Hospital is a small hospital with a total of 4 theatres. We are due to expand further in the future as part of becoming a stand‑alone centre of excellence. The hospital has many specialities including Trauma, Orthopaedic and Breast Surgery. A diverse team works all week to support the community of Cornwall plus many visitors.
We are recruiting for scrub, recovery and anaesthetics roles as part of the recovery programme for elective orthopaedic service, enabling a 6‑day working week including Saturdays.

Responsibilities
 * Assist operating surgeons and surgical teams throughout full intra‑operative pathway.
 * Deliver high‑quality patient care and manage patients during procedures performed under general, regional and local anaesthesia.
 * Develop skills and specialist knowledge to support surgical practice following rotation plan in theatres.
 * Provide a high standard of compassionate patient‑centred care.
 * Lead and supervise the work of other qualified and unqualified staff within the team.
 * Communicate effectively at all levels within the multidisciplinary team.
 * Take charge of the given shift for a surgical operating list and a group of patients in the absence of senior nursing staff, as deemed appropriate by the Person‑in‑Charge or Clinical Matron.
Qualifications
 * Professional registration.
 * Scrub/Recovery experience in theatres.
 * Experience in orthopaedics, trauma and breast surgery is desirable.
 * Mentor qualification is desirable.
