Role Overview
An Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) is a rewarding role, helping individuals in need and making a positive difference in their lives. Main responsibilities include transporting elderly, sick, and vulnerable service users to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities. This can be done as part of a two-person crew or alone, requiring a full UK driving license and good physical fitness.
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours across 5 days, with a 24/7 operational schedule. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, is essential.

Additional Duties
* Transporting 'end of life' service users with empathy
* Effective communication with patients and families
* Lifting, securing, and assisting with patient movement
* Handover of patients at treatment centers or homes
* Patient handling in various settings
* Assisting with challenging behavior and mental health issues
* Maintaining ambulance safety, cleanliness, and organization
Candidate Requirements
* Commitment to patient care
* Effective communication skills, especially in emotional situations
* Calm, careful driver with no more than three penalty points
* Teamwork and collaboration skills
* Physical fitness for patient handling
* Pass an Enhanced DBS check (funded by the company)
* Flexibility to work shifts
* Knowledge of the local area
