Job Purpose: To drive business member retention, growth and engagement within the Cairngorms Business Partnership.
Responsibilities:
Member Engagement & Retention
* Build strong relationships with existing members to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure they are leveraging their membership effectively.
* Identify opportunities to increase member satisfaction and demonstrate the tangible benefits of CBP services.
* Work to retain existing members and reduce churn by proactively addressing concerns and showcasing ongoing value.
Membership Acquisition & Growth:
* Identify and target new businesses (tourism and non-tourism) within the Cairngorms National Park and surrounding areas.
* Promote the value proposition of CBP membership, highlighting benefits such as Chamber services (networking, advocacy, support) and DMO functions (destination promotion, increasing visitor economy).
* Develop and implement strategies to recruit new members and grow the overall membership base.
* Conduct outreach through attending meetings and tailored communications.
Service Development & Delivery:
* Identify gaps in current services and propose new offerings that meet the evolving needs of Cairngorms businesses.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of specific member benefits, such as training workshops, networking events, and business support programs.
* Ensure the effective communication of these services to the membership.
Intelligence Gathering:
* Act as a key point of contact for members to voice their concerns and gather input on issues affecting their businesses.
* Translate member feedback into actionable insights for the CBP's agenda.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement:
* Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, government agencies (e.g., VisitScotland), other business organisations (e.g., GrowBiz), and community groups.
* Identify collaborative opportunities that can benefit CBP members and the wider Cairngorms business community.
Commercial Income & Project Development:
* Be involved in identifying and securing sponsorships that support the financial sustainability of the CBP.
Database Management & Reporting:
* Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of member data within the CBP's CRM database.
* Utilise the database to segment members effectively (e.g., by business type and location) for tailored outreach and service offerings.
Social Media Posting & Content Creation:
* Regularly create and publish engaging content across relevant social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn & Facebook).
* Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and foster online community interaction.
* Utilise social media to promote events, share success stories, and highlight member benefits.
Digital Content & Website Management:
* Manage and regularly update member listings on VisitCairngorms (VisitAviemore) and VisitCairngorms Travel Trade website, ensuring accuracy and completeness of business information to maximise visibility and referral potential.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Business Member Growth:
* Number of new members acquired per quarter/year.
* Growth percentage of the overall membership base.
* Growth in the membership yield
Retention:
* Member retention rate.
* Reduction in member churn.
Engagement:
* Member satisfaction scores (e.g., through surveys).
* Participation rates in CBP events, workshops, and programs.
* Level of member interaction on social media channels and in person.
Experience:
* Proven experience in sales, business development, or membership recruitment and retention.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client or member relationships.
* Experience in a role requiring direct engagement with businesses and stakeholders.
* Familiarity with CRM systems and data management for reporting and outreach.
* Experience with social media management for business promotion and engagement.
* Good understanding of the Cairngorms businesses, communities and geography

Pay: £15,495.00 per year
