CAD Designer / Design Engineer
The client are a leading manufacturer of access hardware parts, components and applications for various industry sectors. They are recruiting for a CAD Designer / Design Engineer to join their team in Redditch.
Salary: £32k - £35k
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer, CAD Technician to join an established, friendly, supportive business.
Responsibilities
* To design and create innovative new product concepts and finalised designs.
* Carry out design changes to existing products as directed by the engineering drawings.
* Work closely with customers and suppliers to bring products to life.
* Support the sales department with initial design concepts.
* Support the production department to ensure that parts go together smoothly and efficiently.
* Support the quality department with product improvements.
* Answer all customer enquiries, via email, internet calls, or phone calls in a timely manner.
* Assist and drive cost reduction projects to achieve targets set by the engineering manager.
Skills and Experience
* Must have experience of 3D & 2D CAD, Solidworks would be highly beneficial.
* Basic knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances.
* Ability to carry out tolerance stacks.
* Ability to work to agreed timescales.
* Have an understanding of die-cast, moulded, pressed and machined parts.
* Ability to work in a team.
* A good eye for detail and able to multi task effectively.
* Good time management.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday 7am to 5.15pm, a 4 day week - Fridays off.
Location
The role is based in Redditch so is easily commutable from Birmingham, Worcester, Bromsgrove, Solihull, Alcester, Dudley, Droitwich, West Bromwich, Kidderminster, Stratford upon Avon.
