1:1 Teaching Assistant Job in Bristol – SEN / SEMH Specialist Role
M&M Supply is recruiting a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist education provision in Bristol. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting a pupil with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), Autism (ASC), ADHD and additional learning needs.

About the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in this specialist setting, you will:
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to a pupil's EHCP
* Support students with SEMH, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD and attachment needs
* Implement positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
* Promote emotional regulation, resilience and independence
* Support access to the curriculum in a structured, therapeutic environment
* Work closely with teachers, SENDCo and pastoral teams
* Build strong, consistent relationships to support long-term progress
This role requires patience, consistency and a calm, nurturing approach.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in:
* SEN Teaching Assistant roles
* SEMH Support / Behaviour Support Assistant roles
* Autism Support Worker positions
* Youth work or residential care
* Trauma-informed education settings
You should:
* Be resilient, empathetic and confident managing behaviour
* Have strong communication skills
* Be committed to inclusion and supporting vulnerable learners
* Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
* Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
