Role Overview
This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager. We are looking for a manager with experience of maintaining and developing the standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities
* Operational running of the gym at all times, including opening and closing when required due to business hours.
* Working early in the morning, late weekdays, and weekends as needed.
* Adhering to all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook.
* Maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard and ensuring the facility meets the highest cleanliness standards.
* Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks and reporting all defects to maintain a safe environment.
* Driving and maximizing secondary spend revenue and meeting all sales and membership targets set.
* Supervising in‑house cleaning staff (General Assistant) and ensuring cleaning standards are met.
* Ensuring uniform standards are adhered to by all team members.
* Delivering outstanding member service and creating a positive working environment for the team and contracted personnel.
* Undertaking any other reasonable duties, projects or meetings that may be required.
* Acting as an ambassador of JD Gyms.
Skills and Experience
* Management experience within a leisure‑related industry.
* Passion for customer service and inspirational leadership.
* Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
* Experience driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity.
* Experience as an Assistant Manager or Fitness Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility.
