Mental Health Support Worker (Crisis Café and Helpline) at BP Group (est 1992).
Role Summary
Provide crisis support to people experiencing mental health crisis, calm, non-judgemental and using a person-centred approach. Deliver support through the helpline, crisis cafés and the weekend Crisis House on a 7‑day rota 17:30‑01:30 am. Work full‑time 37.5 hrs (part‑time 15 hrs) at the Ware base, travelling to Hertfordshire where required. Salary £24,336 p.a. (pro rata for part‑time).
Responsibilities
* Provide crisis support via helpline, crisis cafés and weekend Crisis House.
* Use a person‑centred approach, respect dignity and facilitate access to external services.
* Collaborate with bank staff, volunteers, coordinators, team leaders and crisis manager to maintain service quality.
* Document incidents, maintain accurate records and adhere to HMN values: Hope, Courage, Togetherness and Responsiveness.
Qualifications
* Experience working in mental health crisis support is advantageous.
* Right values, skills and commitment to delivering high quality, person‑centred support.
* Calm, non‑judgemental, good communication and ability to work effectively with people in distress.
