Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in the London Area, United Kingdom. As our Social Media Editor, reporting to our Creative Manager at 8original, you'll be the editor who turns raw footage and concepts into cultural moments. You'll work across verticals, delivering videos that spark engagement and feel native to each social platform.
You'll get your hands dirty in editing - but also in the ideation, adaptation, and iteration that make content pop in real time.
What You'll Do
* Edit, produce, and polish short form video content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and emerging formats.
* Use Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or equivalent tools to deliver fast, clean, punchy edits.
* Add text overlays, transitions and sound design to elevate videos where needed
* Stay on top of trends, tools, templates, and techniques, bringing fresh energy and experimentation to the table.
* Collaborate with all of the content team to align on brand voice, client goals, and visual direction.
* Manage multiple projects at once, often under tight deadlines, without compromising quality.
* Support content ideation: suggest cuts, hooks, and ways to repurpose footage.
Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)
* 1-2 years' experience as a social media video editor (agency, or content team environment).
* Solid mastery of Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or equivalent professional editing tools.
* Deep familiarity with social platforms' video best practices (TikTok, Shorts, etc.).
* Strong storytelling instincts and the ability to make every second count.
* Skill in combining visuals + sound + graphics in a cohesive edit.
* Comfortable iterating quickly and working under pressure.
* Excellent organisational skills, with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
* A portfolio or reel that shows you can create videos that perform and feel native to social media.
Nice-to-Haves
* Understanding of social metrics and video performance (ie. retention).
* Experience working with business accounts
* Some familiarity with AI tools or workflows for video editing or content creation.
