We are looking for a Highways Handover and Completion Manager to join our team, based in Milton Keynes. The Highways Handover and Completion Manager will be the main route-wide point of contact between Handover & Completion Team and Highways Teams. The purpose of this role will be to review and update highways completion plan to remain relevant and useful. This will also include updating, discussing and agreeing Interface Control Documents with local authorities including maintenance regimes. This position will identify, draft, publish and brief out any procedures or guidance that may be required to support practical application of highways completion plan. The role will also identify and define multi-disciplinary tasks required at stages of highways handover and brief to all teams involved. The Highways Handover and Completion Manager will also monitor and report progress on highways (temporary and permanent) completion programme and assess readiness, liaising with site teams when required. It will also require regularly reviewing information in SmartConnect (including the consents register and the handover readiness tracker) and support teams in ensuring it is up to date and coordinated. This position will support the management of delivery of highway boundary drawings required for completion and manage the programme and priorities routewide. This will also include the review and track status of part-complete highways opened in temporary states in liaison with the temp works and traffic teams. This role will support the development and management of the route wide highway maintenance scope (temp, perm and PROWs), strategy, package to enable procurement and take an active role in trouble shooting/problem solving in the Handover & Completion space. This position will collaborate with the Route wide Commercial Team to notify any changes to the process envisaged and support adequate and effective audit processes. About The Candidate Degree (or equivalent) level qualification in Civil Engineering Extensive experience in highways construction and/or design, with a strong background in handover, completion and commissioning activities on major projects. Experience in the management of interfaces with and securing consents from local councils at different stages of project delivery. Excellent people and communication skills. Ability to impact and influence stakeholders, build strong relations internally and externally. Ability to drive efficient delivery and business improvement, with strong commercial skills. Can work independently and is proactive. Ability to manage and mitigate risks to a large programme.
