The role:
To assist in the delivery, management and monitoring of acquisition projects at St. James’s Place, covering both IFA acquisitions and corporate acquisitions. The aim of each project is to support the strategic objectives of the Partnership and SJP Group.
The Head Office Corporate Investments team is responsible for ensuring transactions are effectively managed from the initial review through to completion and successful integration into Business as Usual, delivered efficiently and within our risk appetite. In this role you will be required to work alongside the Investment Manager on the end to end management, review, documentation, approval and implementation across the portfolio. Including monitoring and post‑acquisition work streams.
Long term study support is available to candidates who wish to undertake a professional qualification, such as AAT or ACCA to support their work.
What you’ll be doing:
* Assist in researching acquisition targets. Assimilating and summarising the information into data memorandums for distribution to the internal team;
* Take ownership in the ongoing monitoring of current and historical acquisitions, and develop the effective presentation of relevant management information. Analyse out trends and flag large variances or issues identified to managers. Assist with remedy of those issues;
* Assist with undertaking financial due diligence on target recruits and acquisitions under supervision and report findings. Monitor competitor activity;
* Assist with ad‑hoc due diligence projects on other work streams such operational management of the acquired businesses and Partner acquisitions, taking ownership of small workstreams or work together with subject matter experts to support their output to the wider project;
* Utilise and test basic financial models to create summary tables and outputs. Present results to internal team members;
* Work with internal stakeholders to assist in delivery of associated projects in accordance with the agreed timetable.
Who we’re looking for:
A can‑do attitude with an aptitude for learning and finding solutions, including:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills;
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
* Working towards AAT qualification or have a genuine desire to complete this certification;
* Desire to undertake ACCA qualification;
* Knowledge and understanding of Wealth Management and/or Mergers and Acquisitions industry;
* Basic understanding of company financials (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cashflow) and basic accounting principles.
Special Requirements:
Requirement to be in Cirencester office for minimum of 3 days a week.
