ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A NEW CHALLENGE? Would you like to join the largest and most forward‑thinking NHS Trust in the UK? Our latest EPR has revolutionised how we deliver our Biochemistry services, including a fully integrated single LIMS (Beaker) and Roche middleware across all four sites.
Due to our vast array of services – from routine Roche automation and specialist chemistry to paediatric and newborn screening and UKAS‑accredited point‑of‑care testing – we pride ourselves in growing our own talent and providing opportunities across all sites to develop staff and deliver a strong, sustained service for the future.
The Directorate of Biochemistry spans four sites, all equipped with state‑of‑the‑art technology, including the largest fully automated Roche tracking system in Europe (Roche 8100/612 pre‑analytic systems, Roche 702, 801 and Roche Pro analysers).
Our Specialist Chemistry sections at Oxford Road and Wythenshawe boast internationally renowned specialised assays, comprising Waters, Thermo and Sciex mass‑spectrometry instruments, using highly advanced analytical methods plus various other techniques such as HPLC, RIA, ELISA, calcium‑sensing analysis and other manual assays.

The successful candidate will participate on a 24/7 out‑of‑hours rota and undertake a wide range of complex analytical procedures, performing a broad spectrum of manual, semi‑automated and automated tests. You will use scientific knowledge and experience to comment on and validate results in line with ISO 15189.
