Overview
We require an enthusiastic Locum Consultant Radiologist to join our team of 23 Substantive Consultant Radiologists. The appointee will be primarily based at either Eastbourne DGH or Conquest Hospital Hastings, with placement dependent on service need.
Responsibilities
* Provide General Radiology services with a high level of clinical experience and competence.
* Develop subspecialty areas of interest in addition to core skills and participate in the development of Radiology services.
* Contribute to teaching and supervision, with radiology trainees on rotation from HEKSS deanery.
* Engage in audit and continuing professional development activities.
* Maintain quality assurance by supporting on-call coverage and scan checks as part of a 1 in 8 rota, including daytime cover for malignant cord compression MRI at weekends.
* Work within the Trust’s terms and conditions and adhere to national pay scales; ensure GMC registration is current.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Full GMC registration.
* Demonstrated high level of clinical experience in General Radiology.
On-Call and Working Arrangements
* First line on call is provided by SpR or staff grade radiologists until 10pm weekdays and 5pm weekends; on-call outsourced to a reporting company overnight.
* General Radiology consultant team checks scans the following day for quality assurance and education on a 1 in 8 rota.
