CK Group is recruiting for a QC Manager on behalf of a medical diagnostic company. The role involves managing the quality control and assay departments across haemostasis, gel electrophoresis, and capillary electrophoresis divisions. This is a permanent position based at the Sunderland and Gateshead sites, with Mon-Fri day shifts.
The Role:
Manage the daily operations of the quality control and assay departments, including routine testing, value assignment, review, and product release. Monitor product performance via external quality assessment and collaborate with internal departments to investigate issues.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and coordinate assay/quality control activities to meet product release and EQA deadlines, proactively addressing potential delays.
2. Investigate and implement corrective and preventative actions for ongoing product issues reported by QC or other sources.
3. Review assay/quality control outputs for compliance with specifications and initiate remedial actions if necessary.
4. Provide accurate updates to management and the executive board as needed.
5. Lead cross-departmental meetings, ensuring proper documentation of outcomes for regulatory purposes.
6. Develop expertise in electrophoresis and haemostasis to support quality activities.
7. Gain comprehensive knowledge of software used across divisions.
8. Train personnel in practical and theoretical aspects, maintaining up-to-date training records.
9. Manage testing materials and stock control to ensure timely testing.
10. Handle HR tasks such as leave requests, performance reviews, and recruitment interviews.
11. Maintain and create documentation aligned with regulatory standards.
Your Background:
* Strong Life Science background, preferably in Medical Devices/IVD.
* Knowledge of laboratory practices and Quality Control in the industry.
* Interest and knowledge in Electrophoresis, Capillary Electrophoresis, and Haemostasis.
* Experience with change requests, non-conformances, and deviations.
* Effective team management skills.
* Flexible, proactive, and communicative.
