Job Overview
SW-007-ChipMulti-193 – Multi-Trader – £20 – £24 per hour – 3 month temp role – Based at one location near Huntingdon – Working for a maintenance contractor – Dedicated to delivering Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Responsive Maintenance across offices, garages, break‑out areas and service areas.
This role will be working in a team as part of an Estates maintenance team. Please be aware that you will need your own transport as the site covers a large area and you will be required to move to different facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Work in one fixed location near Huntingdon covering day‑to‑day occupied repairs and maintenance at the site and affiliated facilities.
* Carry out carpentry tasks such as hanging doors, lock repair, flooring repairs and general property maintenance.
* Perform plumbing repairs, painting and decorating, patch plastering and general property maintenance where required.
* Deliver excellent customer service and support staff with reactive repairs and maintenance across the portfolio of facilities.
* Complete daily worksheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job.
* Work closely with the facilities estate management to meet contract SLA delivery in a timely manner.
* Advise supervisor on any issues or challenges that require additional support.
* Work as part of a team of two throughout the day and cooperate with other trades as needed.
* Maintain a tidy work ethic, ensuring adjoining areas remain clean and damage free.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Strong multi‑trade background with ability to carry out multi‑trade works.
* NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in at least one trade, or equivalent experience (time served).
* Proficiency with 110v power tools and hand tools.
* Basic IT skills.
* Extensive knowledge of maintenance repair works in secure environments.
* Experience of repairs and maintenance in occupied residential properties, hospitals, prisons, sheltered accommodation and immigration centres (advantage but not essential).
* Strong customer service, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
* Attention to detail, accountability, initiative, flexibility and adaptability.
* Adherence to company health and safety guidelines.
Working Hours and Pay
* £20 – £24 per hour.
* Working hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
* Pay method: CIS (PAYE and holiday payment method available with slight rate adjustment).
