About The Role Chef | Ty Bronllys School | Brecon | 37.5 hours a week | Permanent | £13.69 per hour | Term Time Only Orbis Education & Care provides expert care and education for individuals with complex needs related to Autism and SEMH. Being a chef for Ty Bronllys School, will give you an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable people whilst also putting your skills and experience as a chef to great use. A typical day in the life of a Chef at Orbis Care will involve: To ensure the smooth running of the kitchen To store, prepare and serve food and beverage items in Accordance with all Food Handling and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. Daily cleaning of all areas of the kitchen in accordance with the Units schedules and specifications, using appropriate equipment, chemicals, and work methods To ensure Documentation duties and procedures are maintained for efficiency and accuracy i.e. temperature of food and equipment Ensure all equipment is maintained and cleaned in the appropriate manner. Report any maintenance problems to the Managers as soon as any problems occur, keeping an accurate record. To be successful in a career with Orbis all you’ll need is: Catering Diploma (City & Guilds/BTEC) Level 3 Food Hygiene Significant experience with line management responsibilities Ideally you'll have experience in a care home setting, although desirable this is not essential A can-do attitude, resilient and reliable nature. Compassion and empathy. Enthusiasm to promote independence & choice. The ability to work flexibly. In return, we offer: Free uniform.
