As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches on every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will help ensure our residents are treated with dignity and independence, and you’ll develop truly personalised care plans by getting to know residents and their families. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintain the highest standards of care, and influence the rest of the team. You may assist residents with daily tasks, such as mobility support or meals, and you’ll do so with kindness above all else. You will support the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, and help provide essential physical and mental stimulation through activities, as well as administer medication.
One of your key responsibilities is to maintain accurate records of the care you provide and to build strong relationships with your team.
Qualifications and requirements: Ideally you’ll have completed a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care (NVQ) and be prepared to work towards Level 3, or an equivalent qualification. A background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia is desirable. What’s essential is your positive energy, ability to work with people, good record keeping, time management, and a kind, considerate communication style with residents and colleagues.
About HC-One: At HC-One, kindness is more than a word. It is a belief that caring for people means caring about what matters most to them so we can support them to lead their best possible lives. Our five qualities, which we all show up with and coach in each other every day, are: Kindness, Curiosity, Compassion, Creativity and Courage, and being Counted On. We champion inclusivity and value a diverse workforce that represents the communities we serve.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All colleagues attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and undertake additional training as required. You should be able to recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and know how to raise concerns and escalate if action is not taken. Full training will be provided.
