Fellow in Resuscitation Medicine (ST2, ST3, and ST3-6)
This post is a 2 year rotation through emergency and critical care medicine, including a funded MSc in Emergency and Resuscitation Medicine

We are seeking enthusiastic, full time clinical Fellow posts in Resuscitation medicine at Barts Health NHS Trust. This is a unique opportunity to join the UK’s largest trust, trauma centre and heart attack centre, and home of London’s Air Ambulance. The posts are for two years and include six month placements in the Emergency Departments at Royal London Hospital, Newham University Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospital; and six months in critical care at Whipps Cross or Newham University Hospital (including intensive care, high dependency care and anaesthesia). Applicants should have at least two years medical post-graduate training, including 12 months Emergency Medicine or 6 months emergency medicine and 6 months in any of acute medicine, anaesthesia or critical care. It is anticipated most applicants will have more experience than this, and this would be regarded as an advantage in the application.
Main duties of the job
1. Clinical work in the ED, CDU and ICU/HDU/Anaesthesia compatible with level of experience and training; but including being a middle grade or senior clinician in the ED/HDU for night shifts (consultant cover on call )
2. The post holder will join the emergency medicine and critical care middle grade rosters with a proportion of evening, weekend and night work
3. Administrative work such as review and follow up of abnormal results
4. Assessment, treatment and referral or discharge of patients attending the emergency department, training and supervision of more junior doctors

Qualifications
Essential criteria
5. MB MS or equivalent
6. Full GMC Registration
7. ALS
Desirable criteria
8. MRCEM OR MRCP OR FRCA
9. ALS instructor status, APLS
10. Level 1 ultrasound
11. ATLS
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
12. At least 2 years training in emergency medicine or ACCS, or its equivalent
13. Demonstrable experience & interest in academic medicine
14. Previous Emergency Medicine experience at registrar or ST1/2 level.
15. Medical knowledge commensurate with grade.
Desirable criteria
16. Trauma centre experience
17. Clinical experience in intensive care and anaesthesia
18. Previous experience of teaching
19. Experience working as a senior trainee in emergency medicine
20. Completion of audits
21. Working Knowledge of procedural sedation
Academic Achievements
Essential criteria
22. Evidence of participation in audit / quality improvement activity.
Desirable criteria
23. Research experience is an advantage
24. GCP training an advantage and should be completed prior to taking up post
25. Paper presentation at conference or publication
