Job Description
Principal Structural Engineer
£60k-£85k
Croydon
Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for complex schemes as an experienced structural designer.
* Act as technical lead and handle whole projects autonomously, providing complex design solutions.
* Have extensive buildings design experience; ideally be Chartered. Experience in the power sector is highly advantageous.
* Work on projects including substation design, battery storage facilities, blast resistant buildings, switch houses, GIS buildings, buildings to house transformer cells, and specialist steelwork structures and supports for underground and tunnel projects carrying heavy power cables.
* Design in steel and concrete with some masonry; projects range from small to multi-million £ schemes, including refurbishments and new builds.
* Travel to sites in London and the South East; a pool car is provided.
Qualifications
* Experienced hands-on structural design engineer
* Chartered status preferred
* Power sector experience advantageous
