An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified GPhC registered pharmacy technician to join our friendly pharmacy team at Morriston Hospital in Swansea. We are looking for a conscientious individual, who is motivated and can work as part of a team, has a flexible approach towards the needs of the service, and able to demonstrate professionalism possessing both excellent organisational and communication skills.
The innovative and friendly pharmacy team is well established within the health board. We are both ambitious and motivated, focusing our work around the best interests of our patients and continuously striving to improve the services we provide.
Applicants will be required to take part in the weekend, bank holiday and locking up rota.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have previous experience of working in an acute hospital ward environment and be motivated, have effective communication and negotiating skills, working closely with patients and the multi-disciplinary team.
You will be required to work under pressure and alone with excellent prioritisation skills. Applicants must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC and have completed both your ACPT and MMPT accreditation.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
1. NVQ3 and BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science (or equivalent).
2. Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician and Medicines Management qualified
Desirable criteria
3. Supervisory management qualifications
Experience
Essential criteria
4. Significant experience of working in a hospital pharmacy department. (working in another pharmacy setting depending on experience).
5. Experience of managing staff.
6. Ability to work as a ‘lead’ technician.

7. Proven track record of competence.
Aptitude and Abilities
Essential criteria
8. Ability to provide good verbal/written communication skills and motivate.
9. Able to work as part of a team. Ability to problem solve, prioritise, innovative and well organised.

10. Ability to speak Welsh.
