A specialist SEN school in South Shields is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September. The school supports pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH needs, ADHD and communication difficulties within a nurturing, structured and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities: Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups Assisting with learning activities and differentiation Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour strategies Encouraging engagement and independence Working closely with teachers and therapists Ideal Candidate: Experience in SEN, care or youth work desirable Calm, patient and resilient approach Strong communication skills Passion for supporting vulnerable learners Long-term role with potential to become permanent.
