Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Stroud
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 per annum (DOE)
About the Role
An established precision engineering manufacturer based in Stroud is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team. This role plays a key part in maintaining product quality and supporting continuous improvement across CNC machining operations.
Working closely with production, inspection, and engineering teams, you'll be responsible for ensuring parts meet tight tolerances and customer specifications, while also helping to drive internal quality standards forward.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out in-process and final inspections of machined components
* Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions
* Interpret and review engineering drawings and customer specifications
* Participate in internal audits and assist with maintaining quality system compliance
* Liaise with production to resolve quality issues and improve processes
* Maintain accurate quality records and reports using digital systems
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quality Engineering or similar role within manufacturing
* Strong understanding of quality tools and non-conformance management
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and tolerancing (GD&T)
* Familiar with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards
* Confident communicator with good problem-solving skills
* Competent with Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems
Desirable Experience
* Background in aerospace, automotive, or regulated industries
* Experience using CMM or other precision measuring equipment
* Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
