We are recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist withexperience in neurological rehabilitation. The role is ideal for someonewishing to take the next step into leading an OT service within a specialistneurological setting.
Working in an exciting and dynamic environment you willprovide comprehensive assessment and high quality therapy to individuals with awide range of neurological conditions such as Stroke, ABI and Spinal CordInjuries. You will have the opportunity to work closely with patients, familiesand staff, and utilise a wide array of resources and up to date technology.There will be opportunities to run training, to provide supervision to juniorcolleagues and assistants and run therapy groups. (Continued professionaldevelopment is actively encouraged within the service we hold weekly therapyteam meetings and in service training). We frequently send our staff onexternal training, should the need arise, to keep knowledge up to date and todevelop specialist expertise.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an OT that has experience in assessingand providing therapy for physical and cognitive impairments in an adultneurological caseload alongside experience of supporting staff and servicedevelopment. Knowledge of a variety of cognitive and impairment basedassessments is essential, in addition to prior experience in carrying out bothevidence-based and informal therapies. An interest in splinting and the abilityto take a leading role in this within the organisation is essential for thisrole.
As the Senior OT at Marbrook, you will have access to:
Regular supervision from the Therapy Lead
A friendly multidisciplinary team consisting of SLT, PT,Therapy Assistants, Clinical Psychology and nursing staff
Regular on-site GP visits, and clinics led by our Consultantin Rehabilitation Medicine
A wide range of cognitive assessments and therapy resources,including iPads with app-based therapies installed
A therapy-led service, where you can provide therapy at thefrequency you deem clinically appropriate
Multiple forms of therapy, including 1:1 therapy, grouptherapy and the ability to complete community access/vocational sessions.
Weekly in-service trainings to support CPD, alongside theability to request additional trainings to further your individual portfolio
The ability to design, lead and deliver on serviceimprovement projects
