Assistant Maintenance Engineer (Reporting to Engineering Manager)
POSITION PURPOSE
Role responsibilities involve control and development of all aspects of Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance and Safety as they relate to our UK operations and its products. This is a hands-on, development role for someone with an HNC/D who wishes to progress to a Manufacturing Engineering role. If a person excels in the role they could have the opportunity to progress onto a degree apprenticeship, to support their progression to a Manufacturing Engineer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintaining Plant and Equipment including CNC Sewing Machines (including programming), Ultra Sonic Welder, Spring Winder etc. Full training will be provided.
Problem solving and diagnosing potential permanent corrective actions.
Leading the introduction of a TPM system, sourcing systems taking into account requirements and budget.
Responding to breakdowns and assure repair in the shortest time possible to minimise downtime.
Producing jigs & fixturing, considering the product and QCDDSSM requirements as well as customer needs and expectations.
Working in collaboration with the GM specifying and ordering: parts spares, parts and materials.
Sourcing and oversee sub-contractors, to ensure legal regulations are adhered too in a cost effective manner.
Overseeing Health and Safety requirements for all machinery and plant equipment.
Supporting/Creating and improve business documentation and procedures, including work instructions/SOPs
Supporting the introduction of new products to the site and the associated machinery.
Provide technical support on customer visits and events with willingness to travel in the UK and abroad.
Training Operators to undertake daily basic maintenance required for their machines.
Being supportive and flexible to work in Production, when required, from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS
HNC/D in Mechanical Engineering.
Time-Served Mechanical
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years engineering experience in a manufacturing organisation (safety critical products preferred).
Experienced in maintaining Pneumatic machinery. xsngvjr
