Overview
The HMP Bedford Lead General Practitioner role offers the opportunity to provide clinical leadership within HMP Bedford. The post reports to the HMP Bedford Head of Healthcare and NHFT Lead GP and Clinical Director for Secured Services; support provided by a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership within HMP Bedford and lead GP team.
* Collaborate with an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Non-Medical Prescribers, nurses, pharmacy, allied health professionals and administrative colleagues.
* Support and be accountable to NHFT Lead GP and Clinical Director for Secured Services.
* Deliver trauma-informed, high-quality primary care as part of an integrated team to improve health and patient experience for men housed at HMP Bedford.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Be on GMC General Practitioner Register and on NHS Performers List.
* Experience in secured environments is not essential; full induction and training will be provided.
* Strong integrity, discernment, growth mindset, and alignment with NHFT values and leadership behaviours.
* Excellent clinical and communication skills; willing to teach and train GPs in training, ANPs and NMPs.
