Are you looking for a role where you can use your hands-on experience working for the South West's biggest employer?
We currently have an opportunity for a Mechanical Craftsperson to join our team in Bodmin. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a salary of £34,368 - £40,729 per annum, plus benefits.
About the role:
As our Mechanical Engineer, you will fault find, repair, and maintain South West Water (SWW) assets across various sites, mainly water treatment works, pumping stations, and service reservoirs. Your role will help ensure maximum asset availability and support SWW’s vision by minimizing compliance risks and preventing pollution.
What you will be doing:
* Perform reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment to high standards
* Provide detailed specifications for parts needed for repairs
* Manufacture and fabricate parts and equipment as required
* Undertake training to carry out work safely and legally
* Complete scheduled work activities
* Assist operational staff with complex problems
* Keep internal customers informed about activities affecting their processes
* Use or request method statements and safe systems of work
* Act as the duty Mechanical Craftsperson on standby/call-out rota
What we are looking for:
* Completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline
* Understanding of RAMS for safe maintenance
* Experience with wastewater treatment processes (desirable)
* Ability to fault find and repair complex mechanical equipment
