Responsibilities
Deliver lively and interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard on a range of programmes as appropriate. Secure outstanding success for all learners and ensure targets for recruitment, retention, achievement and success, attendance and progression are met. Support the design and development of engineering programmes across the provision range in engineering. Teach on a range of full‑time, part‑time and apprenticeship programmes within the engineering department. Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
Qualifications
Enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual who will play a crucial role in realising the department's strategic objectives. Inspiring lecturer with a background in Engineering. Ability to deliver varied, high quality, imaginative sessions and a record of good achievement rates. Demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity towards a variety of learner needs. Support the delivery team with innovative teaching approaches to enable learners to reach their full potential. Relevant degree in Engineering and equivalent higher technical expertise in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering. Has or is willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent). Prefer industry experience, current knowledge and the ability to deliver to industry standard. Well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
