Job Title: Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Coventry – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role
Salary: 45,000+ depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
* Develop a functional design for the Vehicle Control solution for SSNA
* Collaborate with stakeholders to oversee the delivery of the vehicle control solution and strategy
* Assist the engineering manager in delivering the vehicle control system, reporting progress through agile tools
* Ensure timely delivery of the engineering plan
* Work with the Engineering Delivery Team to develop technical solutions and nurture team development
* Engage with legacy stakeholders to develop solutions from baseline designs
Your skills and experiences:
* Experience in developing C&I designs for large-scale systems, meeting standards such as functional, defence, and industrial
* Managing non-functional requirements like EMC and shock to meet industrial compliance
* Authoring/reviewing design documents: I/O schedules, design specs, interface control documents
* Degree in Engineering, Physics, Maths, Science or equivalent experience
* Understanding control system architecture and communication protocols (RS-485, PROFIBUS)
* Experience with IEC 61508 – Functional Safety and safety evidence production
* Experience with manoeuvring systems across industries
